For more than 10 years, Cytos Biotechnology’s scientists have applied innovative science and built on immunological expertise to research and develop a novel class of medicines – so called therapeutic vaccines – addressing major chronic diseases. What started off from an intriguing idea backed by a few research experiments in the late 90s, developed into an innovative, versatile and validated platform technology – the Immunodrug™ platform.

The Immunodrug™ platform forms the heart of our efforts to develop novel medicines and allowed us to establish a diversified R&D pipeline of promising vaccine candidates addressing important chronic disease indications. Five of our product candidates are currently in clinical development, and clinical proof-of-concept with regard to efficacy has been demonstrated for three vaccines in the indications hypertension, nicotine addiction and allergy. Another 12 vaccine candidates are currently undergoing research in preclinical settings.

Additional cutting-edge technologies as well as extensive basic research in the field of immunology complement the Immunodrug™ platform and allow new product candidates to be selected and efficiently advanced from early discovery through preclinical development to the clinic.

To provide the necessary quantity and quality of Immunodrug™ candidates for clinical testing in humans, Cytos Biotechnology has established the comprehensive in-house expertise and manufacturing infrastructure required for vaccine production under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) conditions. This enables Cytos Biotechnology not only to develop its own pipeline products in a timely and cost-effective manner, but also to support its collaboration partners in their development programs by supplying the drug substance they need for clinical trials.

Dedicated, creative and skilled scientists are the driving force behind our R&D achievements and our most important asset for long-term success and continuing innovation. Cytos Biotechnology is committed to creating a challenging and dynamic working environment and is proud to be able to attract people with well respected expertise and scientific merits.
